Özgür Azem Karadağ

Özgür is a Legal Intern at Igniters Tech Law, currently completing his legal traineeship before the Istanbul Bar Association. He holds a law degree from Bilkent University Faculty of Law.

During his studies, Özgür gained substantial practical experience at leading international law firms in Türkiye, advising on matters across commercial law, corporate law, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), intellectual property (IP) law, and competition law. Alongside his firm experience, he participated in moot court competitions, sharpening his analytical thinking and legal reasoning, and entered article competitions to develop his legal writing. He also conducted academic work in India, broadening his perspective on cross-border legal practice.

At Igniters Tech Law, Özgür works across a broad range of matters spanning mergers and acquisitions, technology law, and cross-border transactions. He is building depth in multi-jurisdictional company formation and U.S.-governed international contracts, with a clear trajectory toward a counsel role at the highest professional standard.

Beyond his legal practice, Özgür brings a creative dimension to his career: having served as editor and editor-in-chief during his university years, he aspires to publish books and bring his screenplays to the screen. He sees his future at the intersection of law and entrepreneurship, and finds daily inspiration in Igniters' work at that crossroads. Outside the office, he is passionate about exploring new places and approaches every day as though it were the most important one.
